What we do

Hillside's Family Camp is for families big and small, couples, friends, or for individual campers who would like to share a campsite with others.

Lake Tahoe's world-famous clarity and beauty are the centerpiece of this wonderful God-given place. From lounging on the shore to swimming, kayaking, fishing, jet skiing, boating, and parasailing to river rafting down the Truckee River, the waters of Lake Tahoe provide lots of things to do. Surrounding forest lands provide for self-paced hikes by clear streams that cut through groves of aspen, pine, cedar, and flower-laden meadows to connect alpine lakes and provide breathtaking views of waterfalls and snow-covered mountain peaks. Looking up at the night sky yields a clear view of distant galaxies and shooting stars. Campsite firepits provide a place to tell stories and end each day eating smores. Towns around the Lake provide places to eat, shop and take in talented local entertainment.

What to bring

Some essentials include: a tent or camper (cabins for rent are nearby, although not on site), food, firewood, clothes for all kinds of weather (ranging from rain to sunny walks to the lakeside), and camping supplies. For a complete list of recommended items contact Mike.

Remember, there are bears in and around Sugar Pine Point State Park. You’ll want to prepare accordingly (there are bear-proof lockers on site). Find more information on the CA State Parks website.
